Early Explorers

 

Background

This is a programme where children have the opportunity to be part of the New Entrant programme that St Gerard’s has to offer. This is an opportunity for children to get to know their teacher and become familiar with the regular routines and events of a school morning while getting to meet peers. It also gives caregivers an opportunity to see our classroom programmes.

Early Explorers will take place on Thursday mornings from 8.30-11am for 10 weeks prior to a child beginning school.

During this programme the focus will be on the following:

• Emotional readiness
• Social routines
• Organization and manipulative skills
• Gross and fine motor skills
• Early language and numeracy knowledge

 
What We Need From Parents?

• A commitment to bring children on a weekly basis.
• To bring them to school between 8.30-9.00am and collect at 11.00am to return them to their early education centre
